COVID-19 POLICY Statement

Infection Prevention & Control Policy For Clients
Firstly, I would like to start by sending our best wishes to any of our clients and family who have been affected by the coronavirus outbreak and to say a huge thank you to all of the keyworkers who have worked so hard to keep us all safe at this difficult time.
We know that you will have greatly missed your regular treatments and many of you are more than ready to come back and get caught up with your 'essential maintenance' or are desperate for some relaxation time!
We are looking forward to being able to offer you the treatments you love, and we cannot wait to see you again.
Our priority is to keep our clients and staff as safe as possible and during our temporary closure we have implemented a number of changes which we would like to share with you in this document. We hope that our new protocols will give you the assurance and confidence you need to come and enjoy your treatments again.
We have completed the Barbicide (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course. In addition, all staff have completed refresher training in salon hygiene and specific training on COVID-19 best practise to supplement the existing knowledge that they already exercise daily in the salon.
We have implemented a number of changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when you next visit, this will ensure that your visits to the salon are as safe and enjoyable as possible whilst following Government and Industry guidelines at this difficult time.
You may feel that some of these changes are quite restrictive, but I am sure that you can appreciate that they are entirely necessary and, with your support, they ensure the safest possible visit for all clients. We will continue to monitor these protocols regularly in-line with new guidance, as it become available, and hope that we will be able to gradually relax these measures in the near future.
We ask that all clients read this document before their visit.

Arriving at the Salon.
We now operate a closed door policy, please wait outside and a member of staff will meet you at the door.
If you or anyone in your household feels unwell or displays any symptoms of COVlD-19; i.e. a high temperature, a continuous cough or loss of taste / smell (however mild) or you have been told to self-isolate, please advise us as soon as possible and

DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.
For your safety and to maintain social distancing, we ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up more than 5 minutes early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients unnecessarily. Also please do not arrive late or we may have to cut your treatment short to ensure we have time to clean before the next client.
We can only allow a limited number of people in reception at one time so we politely ask you to wait outside until someone has left, we are working hard to limit any unnecessary contact between clients.
We can only accommodate a certain number of clients and staff in the salon at one time to maintain social distancing which we are carefully planning out with each staff rota and booking. Therefore, it is vital that you please come alone to your appointment, we cannot allow children of any age to accompany parents or people who are collecting clients to wait in the salon under any circumstance.
We now have Perspex screens in place at reception, please speak to our receptionist through the screen and not in the walking space to the side of the desk.
To enable social distancing, we have unfortunately had to remove some of our waiting chairs in reception.
Each client will be asked to sanitise their hands on entering the salon.

Where possible, please minimise the items you bring into the salon. You will need to take any items to the treatment room with you
We have water and disposable cups available. We also welcome you to bring your own bottle / flask of refreshment and reading material if you wish to do so.
You may need to complete a client consultation card for an appointment as this is an important part of your treatment, we will be sending this out with your appointment reminders for you to complete on your own device prior to your visit. However, if you are unable to complete this at home we will continue to use tablets for this to be completed on arrival at the salon, please be assured that the tablets are sanitised after every client.

Our Treatments.
Our staff understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that we wash our hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.
We will do everything in our power to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let us know and we will do what we can to accommodate you.
Please don’t be surprised if our staff use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and / or your treatment, this will be used in-line with our Risk Assessments and are for the protection of you and our team. This may include; disposable gloves, face coverings, face shields, aprons, and Perspex screens as appropriate.
You MUST wear a facemask when attending the salon.
We have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and we are confident that we can continue to provide these safely with the correct procedures / PPE in place. If, at any time, certain treatments can no longer take place due to a change in Government or industry guidelines we will contact you as soon as possible to find you an alternative treatment.
We will open windows or doors where possible to allow good ventilation and fresh air flow.

After the Treatment.
We will still accept Cash, we can take contactless payments up to £100.00 and our card machine will be regularly sanitised between uses.
If you would like to tip your therapist (thank you!),
cash would be preferable, unfortunately, we do not have a facility to accept tips by card.
Your next appointment can be made in the salon, over the telephone or online.
Unfortunately many salons around the UK are having to make a significant increase to all of their prices due to our extended cleaning time and large increases in our running costs, including PPE. We haven’t had a price increase since December 2017 so we have made a small increase in July 2020. Please be assured we have absorbed as many of the increased running costs as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Cleaning & Sanitising.
As mentioned above, we have increased the gap between clients to allow the team to thoroughly disinfect and sanitise the treatment room / desk between clients.
All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.
Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection. We will be giving Clients named and bagged nail files and orangewood sticks.
We have, of course, increased the frequency of cleaning in the salon including making sure that ‘touch zones’ i.e. common surfaces, toilets, door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client / every hour.
We can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority, we can assure you that all salon laundry is washed after every use using detergent and anti-bacteria solutions. Our Therapists change into and out of their uniforms at the Salon and wear a freshly laundered uniform daily
All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area between each client.
All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and that of our staff. We will continue to monitor advice from the Government, the beauty industry and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend our protocols as necessary.

Thank you for reading and for your understanding. If you have any questions, queries or suggestions please do not hesitate to contact us on 01277 627088.
